Ayurvedic TreatmentsThe practice of Ayurveda started in ancient India and has been practiced for centuries. Ayu means “life” and veda means “science” or “knowledge”. In Ayurveda, health is defined as an active goal of wellness. It extends beyond the physical body to the mind, heart, senses and spirit. When in balance one will experience physical vitality, mental alertness, emotional bliss, sexual stamina and spiritual awareness.
The Ayurvedic approach to health is life encompassing including your daily routine, diet, exercise, and environment with the goal of bringing balance. Without balance, a person becomes susceptible to disease. Age, environment, stress, poor lifestyle choices or improper dietary habits can all cause imbalances in the body and mind. Dietary recommendations can include foods, herbs or spices to help restore good health. In addition, Ayurveda encompass therapies such as massage, color/gem therapy, marma therapy (acupressure), yoga, maditation, pranayama (breathing)
